Helping the Marginalized & Oppressed
LHF is currently working to help the Ethiopian born Hehn children who are now adults. The Hehn adults who were adopted into a family near Seattle, Washington have an abusive adoption experience. At this time there are many Ethiopian born Hehn family members who need help with housing, food, clothing, counseling, job training, jobs, and legal needs. LHF is working to help these victims to get back on their feet and experience the life that they and their biological parents dreamed for them to have in America. Unfortunately, the dream has turned into a nightmare for these people and many others like them. A portion of the traumatic experience for some of the Ethiopian born Hehn children can be seen in the documentary entitled “Unwanted In America” narrated by Dan Rather and produced by Yasmeen Qureshi, Lisa Desai and Sarah Gross on AXS TV.

These children were subjected to an injurious adoption situation and continue to suffer the repercussions of being abandoned by the system. It is the goal of LHF to let the Ethiopian Hehn children, who are now adults, know that there is a living hope and a future in America. LHF wants the Hehn Ethiopian family members to know and understand that they are fearfully and wonderfully made. This message of hope and love will be spread through the work of LHF and its partners.
